Just as an update, I decided not to move my KDE folder over. I don't have many files on the system and it's mainly for a backup in a worse case scenario.  I used wallpapers from the Configure Your Desktop routine.  Probably the best way to do it.  Lots of nice wallpapers up there.:)  Plus, it really doesn't take long at all to set up.:) 

Now, in trying to get the Broadcom card to work, I marked all 3 packages starting with b43 for removal.  Now that they are gone, do I need them?  Should I re-install?

This Acer Laptop is already a god five yeas old.  It has a cracked hinge that I'm holing together with duct tape.  Every once in a while, I have to put some new tape on.

But, it works and it's nice to have as a spare.:)

BTW, should I now avoid purchasing laptops and notebooks if they have Broadcom wireless cards?
