PulseAudio makes it easy to manage the device.
Be sure to also install pavucontrol and use that for volume and for selecting to use the BT headset.

OK, I cannot describe everything to you at present, because I am using a test install and have no working Bluetooth.
You can try the following ....... install these applications using Synaptic ...
blueman for Gnome/GTK but I found it useful on KDE too
bluez
bluez-alsa
bluez-pin
bluez-firmware
bluedevil for KDE integration .... it puts an entry in Configure Your Desktop
[and for using Pulse Audio
pulseaudio-module-bluetooth]
You should get entries in the menu
Menu - More Applications - Configuration for
Bluetooth Manager
Bluetooth Preferences if gnome-bluetooth is also installed
You should be able to get your Bluetooth paired ..... maybe need a PIN of 0000
I hope that will allow your devices to connect together.
Sometimes it might be difficult to get your preferred application to use the Bluetooth device, and that is something PulseAudio can help with. But you need a working set up first.
