Kalarm crashes after update.

After update on the 14th of June Kalarm crashes after either deferring reminders, new display alarm, or Configure Kalarm.  Info is a segmentation fault (11).  I use Kalarm every day, all day, so would like to fix this.

On my system prelink is not installed so couldn't remove.  Updated to kernel 3.2.18-pclos1.bfs and that didn't solve the problem.

Running fully updated KDE 2012.2 and update at the very least once a week.

My system is:
MSI Laptop, Motherboard MSI MS-1671
CPU AMD Turion(tm) X2 Dual-Core Mobile RM-70
3 GB RAM
NVIDIA Corporation [10DE] MCP72XE/MCP72P/MCP78U/MCP78S High Definition Audio [10DE:774]

I have the same issues.

The upgrade also seems to be causing my wifi to drop out and fail to reconnect (though it may be unrelated - more investigation is  required)

Reinstalled Kalarm, then completely removed Kalarm and reinstalled, same crashes.

Did you start it from a terminal? Do you get error messages?

I just updated a Virtualbox VM which had a similar update list as in the OP and my Kalarm still seems to be okay.

I updated in batches to see if I could pin down the culprit  and restarted the desktop each time - and tried KAlarm with no problems occurring.

It's a long shot, as I'm not an expert, but how about renaming your .kde4 folder, logging out and back in, and checking again?

Good thought. Tried that and Kalarm crashed with same info.   :(  Any other ideas are welcome.

Thanks for all the work.  In your case it wasn't a problem with the update, but my Kalarm worked for ages until the update.  Sure wish I knew the problem.  Does the terminal output above tell you anything?

I had held off updating until tonight.

Kalarm was working prior to the update.

After the update and a log out & in, it threw an error about a crash (no reboot yet)

So I launched it from a terminal, and it launched OK and is presently running.

The terminal output ......

Berry confusing.  Tried in terminal once more and got the same output.

The KCrash: is where I tried Configure Kalarm.  It will run until I try to Defer a reminder or if no reminders, Configure Kalarm.  It also crashes if I try to make a new alarm.

It mentions D-Bus.  Should I try to reload some of the dbus things in Synaptic?

I don't think it can help. Recompiling kalarm against new libs could help.

Anyway, I recommend to wait for KDE 4.8.3.

Similar here.
KAlarm launches from terminal but crashes when trying to create a new visual alarm.
Nothing reported in the terminal.
