(SOLVED) Help with Downloads using PCManFM
« on: June 14, 2012, 11:25:08 AM »
My Downloads always go into the 'Downloads' folder - obviously!  :)
But . . is it possible to download into a named folder previously created in the 'Downloads' folder when I click to perform the initial download?
Thanks

PCManFM is not the program doing the downloading. Whatever program doing the downloading is the one you need to configure. And you have said nothing about how you download. Are you using Firefox?

If so, click Edit > Preferences. Click the General button at the top of the window. You probably have Save files to Downloads selected. Click the Browse button to change the folder you save downloaded files to. You can also select Always ask me where to save files instead.

Thank you very much.
I changed preferences in Firefox as you instructed. Downloads now go to folder of my choice.
Brilliant! . . That's something else I've learned from you.
Thanks again. I'll mark this post 'SOLVED'
