undefined video mode number 317 (Solved)
« on: June 13, 2012, 08:23:23 PM »
I did the latest updates (in PASS) and installed the latest kernel (3.2.18-pclos1.bfs). This is in a Netbook- Toshiba NB305. Now when I start it comes up with the error message (undefined video mode number 317) right after the grub screen. I pick one and it boots OK, but every time it starts, it does the same thing. What do I need to do to correct it?  Thanks

You have vga=791 in the kernel line(s) of /boot/grub/menu.lst. Change it to vga=normal. You have to edit the file as root. Make a backup copy before editing it.
