I have posted in the Broken Packages board on this, referencing this post topic plus a very similar one in the LXDE board.  Hopefully that will bring it to the attention of the package people as I am not sure any of them know about it yet, unless Neal is one of those magic guys ;)

Well, that's probably the end of my input on this,  a big Thank You to all for getting back to me on this. I have learned a few things and its nice to see the Xfce board alive and kicking :)

My next adventure ......... Plymouth themes (the kids really like the bull!)........

So newbie, I don't have a profile yet!

Hi guys,
I have noticed that the LXDE version is now 2012.06, while it was 2012.01 when I installed it. My question is, are all the changes in this new iso are reflected into the repositories so that the previous versions roll into the latest version? And if the changes that are discussed in previous posts of this thread (the texlive dependencies etc.) are fixed, they are going to be in the repositories or I need to install a fresh PCLOS for them to take effect? Also I would appreciate it if somebody who knows about the XFCE version, gives me a rough release date for the next problem-free version.

Many thanks.

This is not the forum for such a question, but XFCE no longer has a maintainer, and the devs are working hard on 64-bit.  If you want an up-to-date XFCE release, install the 2012.2 iso, then update through synaptic.  Done

Also, the tex-live dependency, though a bit of a burden, is not something that is "broken."

Hi GermanTux,
Thanks for the reply. I posted this here because it was (sort of) related to the previous discussions. I do not consider the problem with texlive and jadetex a "broken" package. But, you know, it is a bit strange for me the need for it considering the 700 MB space it takes on my small HDD. Anyways, I hope these unnecessary packages are removed soon.

Thanks.

This is not the forum for such a question

Which forum, pray tell, is the correct one for "such a question"?
