Dissapearing webcam mic
« on: June 13, 2012, 04:28:39 AM »
Hi

I have a Logitech C190 webcam and pulse-audio installed (without pulse-audio no mic at all). When I reboot the mic for the webcam dissapears and only way to get it back is to run alsaconf as root then immediately it re-appears (in kmix or pavucontrol) until the second reboot then its gone again, any ideas as how to set this permanent please?

Helmut.

Disappears from where?

pavucontrol

Is the webcam showing on the configuration tab after a reboot?

If there, is it 'Off' or set to 'Analogue Input'?

Is it showing on the 'Input Devices' tab?

If yes, is it the correct MIC input that is selected? It should give an indication which MIC is displaying.

Is it muted on that tab?

Is it set as 'fall-back' device?

Check the above settings and provide pics where appropriate to show us what you see.

Kmix, pavucontrol and greyed out in configure your desktop until reboot unless I run alsaconf as root.
