<Fixed>Xsane Error
« on: June 05, 2012, 06:15:28 PM »
All of a sudden when I start my Epson Stylus NX400 scanner now I get the error:
Quote
Error during CMS conversion. Could not open ICM profile
Opening from terminal I get:
Quote
lcms: Error #12288; File '' not found

It will scan but the quality of a document scanned makes it unreadable.. I have  no interface now to control quality. I'm guessing that control panel would help but is missing because of the missing file. This is a 3-in-1 but I only use it for scanning and it is turned off between use. It was working fine a couple of months ago when last used. I'm running KDE fully updated.

I Googled and got plenty of hits but nothing that seemed like an answer I could understand and use.

Really need to send a document as part of an email tomorrow but can't get a readable scan to send.

In the XSane main window, click Preferences and uncheck Enable color management.

That fixed the error message. I fixed my main problem by upping the scan to 600 DPI then reducing the size of the resulting image to letter size.

Thanks all.
