I created a new user and log on to it.

Opened Opera and it hung within 20 seconds.


If it identifies anything, when attempting to close Opera after it hangs, I get the message of application not responding, Process ID = 4578


Now as Opera is crashing on me whether from an rpm install from Opera or a repository install, I suspect a bug in Opera - could be wrong of course!

I have read of bugs in Opera 12.  I am not experiencing the same problem as you.  I do have some problems such as freezing at other points.  Perhaps you should try installing an earlier version.

I deleted .opera, uninstalled Opera 12 from repository then installed 11.61 from Opera website.

Still hangs for about 20 seconds but then recovers - strange!
