Green Comet
« on: May 31, 2012, 02:30:23 PM »
Hi all.  It's been a while since I posted here, but I've been around.  PCLinuxOS 12 is on my new machine and it's up to the usual standard.

Here's what I've been busy with:  a novel called "Green Comet," which I've released under a Creative Commons Attribution and ShareAlike license.  Please go to the website and download whichever version you want,  Heck, download them all.-)

I think of it as a love story in an exotic setting.  You'll find some comments there that explain it further.  I hope you enjoy it.

edit:  I guess a url would be good.-)  http://www.greencomet.org

Thanks, guys.  Sorry Chilly, epub is the closest I could get to a book.  Archie, since it's cc-by-sa, if someone wants to make a graphic novel of it, they're free to do so.-)

In that case, I hope you don't read it for a long time.  And, at 134,000 words, I hope you're not there long enough to finish it.-)

Chapters 3 & 4 are up now.  You can either download the whole thing or just the latest readings.

I haven't given up on the recording.  I just uploaded chapter eight today -pant-pant- it's over an hour.  I also uploaded versions of the PDF and ePub with "cover" pictures.  Nothing fancy.  Just some crude GIMP work by me.

You never told me that.  :(  Ready for chapter 7.  Think I will start all over with the recording.  :)  Maybe make more sense.  :o   You are using too many big words for me.  ::)

I have downloaded the audio of The Green Comet by arjaybe and finished listening to the first 11 or so chapters.  The story is very interesting and I am enjoying it very much.  :)

Now I am waiting and waiting and waiting for the next audio download.  >:(

This week I have Olympic Fever and so will judge The Green Comet and author on the 10 point system.  :o

I am sure the story will rate a 10. It appears that I might have to begin reading the text without hearing it.  :(  The plot thickens and I don't want to get the good guys mixed up with the bad guys.  And there are some pretty mean ones there.

The voice of rbj is very pleasant and easy to listen to. He reads with just the right emotion and is not dramatic although there are dramatic parts. So the audio rates a 10.

I follow along with the text of the pfd.  I like doing that. Now I have to deduct a little bit there.  :'(
I noticed that at least twice there was a substitution of words.  Maybe a this for a that or a these for a those.  I do not recall just where but I did make a mental note of it.  I don't intend to listen again to find it.  rjb can worry about that detail for himself.  ;D  So he receives a 9.999998 for that.   ;D ;D

One more rating is due.  For friendship rbj receives a  +100.   ;)

(I think I hear rumblings that the next bit of audio is almost ready.  8)  )
