Hi

Did an update today, lo & behold lomanager got updated to vers.: 3.5.4,
I thought 'nice', maybe there's a new version of LibreOffice...
So I ran lomanager, but it sadly aborted with a dialog saying:

"Please update your system"
"(more details: /tmp/LO_STEP00.log)."
"Exiting..."
[OK]

Right, I checked the logfile:

"Reading Package Lists...
Building Dependency Tree...
The following packages have been kept back
   libdvbpsi5 (0.1.6-1pclos2007 => 0.1.7-1pclos2012)
0 opgraderes, 0 nyinstalleres, 0 removed and 1 not upgraded."

?!?!?!? -> Scratching my head....
Ok, I fire up synaptics and look for the "libdvbpsi5"...
It's installed and fully updated! (It's a library for reading mpeg2 files and discs).
Hmmmm... Maybe my LibreOffice install is so old that lomanager can't 'manage' it  ;)
I try removing LO in lomanager, Yeah, success! Ok, reboot and then I'll try again...
Alas, still lomanager aborts with the aforementioned message?!?!?

So, now I'm left without LibreOffice at all! Time to search the forum....
Found a few posts, but none of them dealing with this particular problem.

Please, I need a little bit of help, with this one.

Running: Lenovo R500 laptop, LXDE 2012.02 fully updated and everyting else is "Swinging"

Regards Benny

There are instructions in the first post of the main LOM thread detailing the method to install manually.

It might help.

Are you sure the version of libdvbpsi5 in Synaptic is 0.1.7-1pclos2012 and it isn't pinned?

If it is, I would reinstall it. If that doesn't change things there might be a deeper problem and you might need to rebuild your rpm database.

A workaround to get LO installed isn't going to fix the fact something is wrong with your system which needs fixing before it breaks things more badly.

@kjpetrie: You're right, bad eyesight on my part ???
I updated the lib and it threw away my vlc in the process...
Tried to reinstall vlc, but it complains about dependencies in core vlc-libraries...
Makes me think there's a package update in the works....

Well I'll leave it for now, caus' it's my biz-linx and I won't need movies for a few weeks...

Anyway, thanks  :)
