Used the Control Center to set up MX420 printer.Printer is on wired ethernet . It gave me a device URI of:
dnssd://Canon%20MX420%20series%20_AA209E692AE8._printer._tcp.local/
The wizard finds the printer with no problem on the network with a static IP address. It finds the driver no problem.
I can access the printer via it's IP address, so it isn't a network problem. I have been able to print through Firefox, and Gimp, but not through any pdf viewers or even text files via Libre Office. If I print from these programs, the printer comes out of standby and lights up, so I know that something is sent to the printer. However, nothing prints, and the job says that it has been completed. I tried using socket://IPAddress:9100, but no joy.
Tosiba Satellite laptop connected to network wirelessly. Printer is connected via ethernet cable. PCLOS 2012 just reinstalled and updated.
Anyone have any clues to solve this problem?
