I wonder if the WAV files that won't play have a slightly different format or such?Have you had a look at a couple of WAV files with MediaInfo to compare them?Might be interesting if there are differences .....
As I said, it was working until I upgraded TB to 13.0, & now I can't use ANY .wav file from my personal folder in the home directory. No idea why....Quote from: Just18 on July 11, 2012, 02:35:45 PMI wonder if the WAV files that won't play have a slightly different format or such?Have you had a look at a couple of WAV files with MediaInfo to compare them?Might be interesting if there are differences .....
Have you copied the file to be used to the location of the usual sound file?Would it be the location of storage of the file that is causing the problem?
As I said, it was working before I upgraded TB to 13.0. I had to copy the file to usr/share/sounds for it to work, but again, it won't work from my personal folder as it did in the past.
TB is still at 12.0.1 actual in repository and on my install.
Now, that's odd.... I just checked, & I do in fact have 12.0.1. I could've sworn I had 13.0. This is really strange!

I did the following test here today ... maybe you could duplicate it .....KDE CC - Common Appearance & Behaviour - Application and System Notifications - pick any event and then use the browse facility to find a sound file in my /home/user/Music ..... I used full song files to experiment.I played both WAV & MP3 files without incident. So my system does not care about the location of the file to be played. Can you duplicate this?
That's the same as choosing "default system sound for new mail" in TB, which doesn't work. I don't hear anything. I looked in Application & System Notifications, & there isn't even an option for new mail notification.Quote from: Just18 on July 12, 2012, 08:05:00 AMI did the following test here today ... maybe you could duplicate it .....KDE CC - Common Appearance & Behaviour - Application and System Notifications - pick any event and then use the browse facility to find a sound file in my /home/user/Music ..... I am unsure from your reply if you tried what I suggested or not.
