MiniMe et al
« on: May 21, 2012, 12:34:27 PM »
I have been a long time PCLOS user and the current version has one glaring flaw. I have not been able to adjust the screen size to make the window completely fill my laptops screen size. What the heck is going on ?? I have logged in as root and changed everything to my satisfaction and the next time, guess what - I have to do it all over again. It's nice the screen size works for netbooks but what about normal people ?? This item needs some serious attention because it is so annoying. It's a PITA. I am getting tired of having to adjust screen size each time I log in.

Thanks

Maybe if you asked for help while providing some necessary information someone will be interested in helping.

I really wasn't asking for help but I was citing a problem with MiniMe. I have tried
other versions too and the same thing happened except with the KDE Full version.
Eventually, after 6-8 tries, it finally corrected the screen size.

I would expect that ifroot tells the system to do things a certain way, it would take
the order and run with it. Correcting problems like this is part of the process of
heading towards perfection.

So kill the acidic replies and let Tex do his stuff.

Thanks

You posted in the Help section without providing sufficient information to allow anyone to help.

In addition you posted with 'attitude' and emboldened text.

What did you expect for a reply?

But Mikey,

In you first post you didn't even mention that you were running MiniMe. Nor did you tell us anything about your hardware except that it is a laptop. Nor did you tell us precisely what you had done to correct your screen size, apart from logging in as root.

Your irritation is understandable, but you take quite a lot for granted, among other things that your problem is a common one. It isn't.

None of my business really, but if MikeyAtl is not after help, as so graciously offered 'how to' by Just18 and Bald Brick, what is the point of starting a thread ?  ???

It appears that MikeyAtl just wants to complain. :-\ He doesn't seem to want anyone to help him figure out what is wrong and how to fix it, but in the mistaken belief that his problem is everyone's problem, he is saying that Texstar (hey, he didn't read the news) should rebuild everything (with no idea of what is wrong ::)) to fix his problem.
