wifi problems

hi,can anyone help,,,,
   I am using the feb 2012 full monty,,,,I can get on the internet using my cable (wired ethernet),,,,,but the wireless connection,,,,I cant enable ,,,,the tag for  configure is not hi-lighted and I cant seem to find what to do to correct it.
  is there something else I need to tick ??..

we need to know what wireless adapter you are using first of all . in a console (terminal) type in lspci and look through the results for your wifi adaptor make model post the results and we can go from there .
