zyberhawkNo hp connected, that is interesting, I do not know at this stage what the significance of this is but it is a hint that something is not right. In an earlier post you also showed hp fax backend in the
lpinfo -vWell it is my belief that the line
direct parallel:/dev/lp0 must show up in the result of konsole statement
lpinfo -v if the printer is connected and powered up. If it does not show CUPS may be confused.
Ok, I can no longer ignore your particular customisation of whatever version you are running. We have to have you running a system that is standard, that I can repeat here.
I am going to change approach but will need to look at one of my base installs first.
Right now I would like to know if you are running your present system based on a KDE liveCD version 2012.02 or is it based on earlier ISO kept fully updated? Not clear to me.
NoIBndsDid you run a parallel printer connection? I have no supporting facts myself but there may be something in your statement that an upgrade could have changed something slightly. I have assumed what you are suggesting has in fact been tried a number of times from the way zyberhawk has posted, this assumption could be biting me in the back.
