[SOLVED] Thunderbird 12- Notification Sound Doesn't Work

I just updated Thunderbird, & the notification sound no longer works. Is there something I can do, or is this really a bug?

Have you checked that you didn't delete or moved the soundfile ?

Like I said, I never changed anything. I only upgraded TB via synaptic.

You did not answer the question that was asked of you ....  did you check?

I cannot help with your posted problem, but the apparently aggressive responses just might have something to do with the lack of help available.

I appologize if my response seemed aggressive, that was not my intention. Yes, that option is ticked as it always has been. I just need some direction as to where to look for the cause of this problem, since it seems to be only my system.

Is esound package installed on your system?
Check it out by command:

Yes, it's installed. As I indicated above, the notification sound worked until I upgraded TB.

I never use the system sound, but that doesn't work, either. Changing the sound doesn't help.
