Recently I installed kernel 3.2.15 and have been using it for several weeks without problems. This week I got an update that included dkms and updated my system. Tonight I had a KDE problem and had to reboot. After restarting the system my Nvidia settings no longer work and I can't even log in. Since everything was working smoothly under 3.2.15 I uninstalled the older kernel. Now, I'm fully aware that the testing repo is experimental and due to that I accepted the risk and installed the newer kernel but forgot to remove "testing" thus the dkms problem now. I recognize that this mistake caused the problem but I need to know how to fix it. Is there a way to replace kernel 3.2.15 with the older kernel or what must be done to make it right? Currently I'm using a live cd until I find a solution. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
