Problems with youtube and images after the last update
« on: May 08, 2012, 04:53:15 AM »
Hi friends,

after the last update I am having problems with youtube, some weird pixels, and today the people is blue!! Schtroumpfs!!

The images in the web browser have sometimes weird white pixels... I use Firefox.

Is the flash-plugin update the problem?

Here are the Schtroumpfs:

This happens only in my Laptop Lenovo, in the Acer netbook the update was ok.

Any solution?

Thanks.

Not certain about the weird white pixels but the latest couple of flash releases have given some videos the blue'ish tinge you mention .

The odd thing it doesn't seem to apply to all videos.

I always download flash releases as they come out and store them so if a problem occurs I can drop back to a version that is problem free.

It´s a known bug in flash-player-plugin with the current nvidia drivers (295.xx series).

Hi friends,

sorry, I have been very busy. I also changed my Internet company. I have been some days without Internet...  >:(

I followed step by step the JohnW_57 solution and reinstalled the old flash plugin by rpm , now flash is working fine. The new one was terrible, with some videos affected all the system. Now Update-Notifier is always asking for update the flash plugin...

Maybe this does fix it?

http://i.minus.com/1336519626/j0MdUORJ8rpiybKA0nsgdw/dZO4qFjg10Tdu.rpm

It's is the previous flash-player-plugin.

Howto:

Download the  Flash-player-plugin.
Remove the actual flash-player-plugin with  synaptic.
Start konsole  and su to root.
Go to the folder where it's downloaded.

Type rpm -Uvh flash-player-plugin-11.1.102.62-1pclos2012.i586.rpm

Test it!!

JohnW

I think that this awful flash update is other problem for the linux community...

Thanks friends.

How to pin a package in Synaptic

I did the pin of flash-player and work fine, no more updates, but... now I have a doubt: How can I know the next updates of flash-player, only looking at synaptics for weeks or moths...?   ???
