help plz

Hello

I'm New in here , I want to try my PCLinuxOS iso image file as a virtual Machine.
I want to keep my Windows.
I tried a software called MobaLiveCD_v2.1 but it keeps loading and nothing changes.

I use Windows XP  , 2GB Ram

is there any suggestion to run it.

hello and welcome to the forum!

pclinux can be tested as a livecd without installing it, all you need to do is burn that iso file to a cd and boot the pc from that livecd, nothing will be installed or modified in your hard disk if you don't want it

if you want to install the os in the hard disk you can keep both os(windows and linux), if you want help to do this, let us know and we will guide you

about testing it on a virtual machine under windows i recommend you virtualbox

it is the most simple tool you can use for this purpose, just create the virtual machine and then point it to the iso file you downloaded, if you have problems following the steps to create the virtual machine let us know

You may already know this but installing Virtualbox Guest Additions provides a lot more usability whilst using the VM - and the Virtualbox Extension Pack is also useful

hope you enjoy it and then decide to install, dualboot windows and pclinux is very useful for most of us

some of us even decide to run pclinux only and when required, run windows on virtualbox only

for most of us it takes years before abandoning any other os and using pclinux only

i personally never abandoned windows and possibly never will, some things can be done in windows and not in linux but windows has become the other os, not the os

maybe this could be your same situation, so this is why i suggest dualboot for some time
