Web Password Management
« on: May 01, 2012, 09:06:19 AM »
I've convinced myself that I need to start using unique passwords for each web service. My browser choice is exclusively Chromium these days. Any suggestions on how best to implement this?

Good idea dixonpete.

I use LastPass password manager on Firefox and there is a Chromium version.

It's wize to make the actual password for opening LastPass  super strong as it of course holds all individual web site passwords.

LastPass can generate very strong passwords for you and it can be set to auto-login to specific site(s) or use a prompt to choose. etc...

One (of many) useful tools is testing the strength of each password

I use KeePassX. The master key is either a password or a key file or both. Selecting an entry and Ctrl+U your opens the site ... Ctrl +V logs you in with stored username/password.

I export my LastPass data into KeePassX so I have access to them from there if needed

+1 on LastPass. Not sure how well it works with Chrome / Chromium - it's a perfect add-on for Firefox.

I've just seen that there is also a KeePass version for Android called KeePassDroid.
