can't sign in to forum
« on: May 03, 2012, 06:04:29 AM »
This is primarily to Old-Polack but others are welcome.
Previously I was trying to gain access to the forum with Windows 7 pro and Iron.
No Luck.
Gives the following message: "you were unable to login. Please check your cookie settings"

I can access the forum with Pclinuxos as you can see from this message.
It's ok, now that I know what I have to do.
Obviously, I run both systems.
This is just for info in case somebody else has my problem.

Hi shankle,

try this as shortcut in W7:

Code: [Select]
"C:\Program Files\SRWare Iron\iron.exe" --enable-cookie-prompt

Change path of exe file if necessary.

Yep, that's how logging in works on most websites; it serves you a cookie which decodes as "I am user x and I am logged in". When you log out it deletes the cookie or changes it for one which means "I am logged out".

Of course, it only works if your browser is set to accept cookies.
