The case of the vanishing icons [SOLVED]
« on: April 24, 2012, 09:02:53 AM »
I have just done an update, first update for 4 days, and as usual I do "Mark All Updates" then Apply. I have done a reboot and now the Home icon as disappeared from my desktop leaving just the Wastebin. There is also an extra icon in the panel bar that is part hidden under the "Configure Your Desktop" icon. I unlocked widgets, right clicked on the panel and the tooltip "Smooth Task Settings & Panel Options" is being shown at the top of the screen instead at the bottom above the panelbar. It looks like the latest update resized my desktop. Anyone had this problem and how do I correct it?

I checked monitor settings and although I didn't change anything but clicked Apply and rebooted my desktop is now back to how it was. I have no idea how or why this happened so I will blame aliens  ;D
