Kmail 4.8.3 is still very unstable and very slow (when compared to old kmail).

After all of this I think that akonadi is just unready. I turned it off and moved to other apps. Good that akregator works without akonadi.

You can turn off Akonadi?  I was under the impression that you can uninstall Kmail, and turn off Nepomuk, but that Akonadi will still run regardless.

You can just prevent it from starting mysql that is almost the same. ;-)

The only true way to turn off akonadi is to build kde with correct flag, but this hack works so well that I don't care anymore.
