First requirement is to have 64 bit capable hardware. If you have that, you need to download and install the 64 bit test release .iso from a repository mirror. The link below should be a good source. The last two items are what you need; the pclinuxos64-test04.iso, and the pclinuxos64-test04.md5sum file to check that the downloaded .iso has not been corrupted during the d/l process.

Of what use be there for joy, if not for the sharing thereof?

Thanks Old-Polack, it worked fine. I was able to install the 64 bit version. And then add the test repo and playing around with the kde 4.8.

Neal,

Yes I did sign up. I had posted the message which was mandatory for signing up as a tester. Is there anything else I need to do, if yes please
let me know.

Arun

I have read Links A, B and C and realize that being a tester has risks that I am solely responsible for, I accept this risk gladly and waive all liability from PCLinuxOS for any potential damage to data or information on the machine that is to upgraded to testing status.

64-bit only (do not run 32-bit anymore).

Conversion to KDE 4.8.2 complete.  Looks like Fedora 17 w/o the fireworks.
System backed up (pre & post "test" activation) - nothing has burst into flames, yet.  We shall see what happens.

Who is in-charge of approving testers now? I noticed that there are a few more who signed up but have not been labelled Testers.
