I've read Links A, B, and C and I maintain separate partitions and machines expressly for testing purposes. I have limited my past testing exercises to those applications I feel comfortable with, but that may change as I gain proficiency.

You have to copy paste - your level of participation is up to you but you cant be a PCLinuxOS-Tester without accepting teh potential risks
