TEST: kde4-kio-recentdocuments
« on: April 15, 2012, 12:23:35 PM »
Something new to test...

Description:
A kio to display recent document when using KDE file dialogs and file managers.
It is acessed using the URL recentdocument:/

A KCModule in systemsettings allows the user to enable/disable and configure number of recent documents displayed.

TIP:  You can add recentdocument:/ to the places sidebar / panel in your KDE file manager and/or file dialogs via drag-and-drop for easy access.

Project page: http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/kio+recent+document?content=145878

RPM, SRPM, SPEC (COMPILED FOR 32bit / KDE 4.6.5 ..not x86_64): http://minus.com/mGUk8sTi2/3l

Note... i have contacted the developer about possibly changing the 'URL as name' behavior of the plugin, just waiting for a response (..it seems redundant to me because you can use the "Details" view mode and display the "path" column to get this info.  In its current condition many of paths used as file names are too long to actually tell what the file name is  :-\)

Thanks.. ..that's good to here.

I will probably leave them on minus for a few more days before sending them to dropbox...  I haven't heard from the author, so I'll just have to repackage when/if and update comes...   ...unless someone volunteers to write a patch ???

Seems like a worthwhile addition. Thank you travisN000.
Packaging well will cure headaches of many :) But learning to package will cause headaches in many :(

I don't know if this is of any use as the post mentions "(COMPILED FOR 32bit / KDE 4.6.5)"

but when trying to install on TR2012.06 32bit  (KDE 4.8.3) - it returns this message

kio-recentdocument:
Depends: kdelibs4  but it is not installable

and iof course it's kdelibs that's currently in use.
