F2410 HP printer -631 error message

Here is my problem. When I changed the cartridges in my HP f2410 printer ,and I tried to
print a page ,it would not find the printer. So I went into CUPS 1.4.1
This the error message that came up.
Queue Name =HP Deskjet F2400 Series
DEscription  +same as Queue name.
Location Localhost,Localdomain
Make and model =HPcups3.11.10
Status= paused-"/usr/lib/cups/baclend/hpfailed
When I switch it on ,it really is noisy ,like the ratchet or rack is ratcheting.

Why you are using CUPS 1.4.1? The current version is 1.4.6.

Something is physically wrong with the printer. It sounds like the cartridges aren't seated correctly, but could be something else. Check the mechanical functioning of the printer itself.

Thanks for your quick reply. I checked my Synaptic ,and it has Cups 1.4.6.1
I shall be taking it to my friendly repair shop on Monday.

Further to this topic. I have to joyfully recommend the help ,and my patience. I decided to try it once more ,and before I switched on the printer ,I ensured that the paper was not "jammed" which it was ; As soon as I freed the paper the printer printed out my backlog of notes ,etc.
