Will Not Power Off When Shut Down
« on: April 11, 2012, 05:31:04 PM »
Just installed Phoenix (XFCE) 2012.2.  Everything works well except when I go to
Menu  >>  Log Out  >>  Shut Down, the screen goes blank and laptop does not shut down.

Anyone know what gets executed and/or how how to fix this?

spacecoastpete,
As you will see from my signature at the foot of this post, I have XFCE installed on this laptop - along with three other versions of PCLinuxOS.
After I read your post, I rebooted into XFCE and then logged out. I have to report that the switch off went flawlessly. I do, however, find a similar problem with my installation of Open Box.

Sorry, I can't give you an answer on this problem.

I use just "halt" (without quotes).
