Network centre problem? [SOLVED]

drakx-net package sent to dropbox, probably available tomorrow as update.

The drakx-net Maledition!  

That package was patched several times, from several people, at the end it included 3 patches (nearly identical), one was not applied, one doesn't apply because built using wrong paths, the one that was applied removed one var  

/usr/lib/libDrakX/network/tools.pm  line 284

sub get_routes() {
   my %routes;
#    foreach (cat_("/proc/net/route")) {

    my @routes = cat_("/proc/net/route");

that red line was incorrectly commented out, probably because it resemble the @routes defined later ...

... and because it was in testing for weeks ... of course no one spotted out the problem while in testing

Hehehe the best of Linux (and AS) at work!  Great stuff.
Wonder if M$ its bug in the OS of Nokia can fix this fast!

Glad you fixed it but it is not fixed for me. Did an update today and I thought it was ok but it just reverted back to the check mark and would not disconnect.

Unfortunately not fixed here either; on resume or wake, the machine now locks up while trying to reconnect.

This does seem to be a different issue to the original (fixed) one but I feel it must be related in some way.

Please, do a quick test: quit net_applet, then try suspend/resume.

Sorry AS, took a little longer than expected.

Resume from sleep and hibernate works fine after quitting the net_applet. If I then try to restart the applet it runs but it seems the wifi card is not being detected

Well, it is obvious by now that this a wider spread problem than each of us individually thought.

This is a more recent problem for me. As I never had this problem in the past.

I am connected wireless but don't see the signal indicator. (Isn't the case after a fresh reboot).
After a try to disconnect this icon pops up and seems to stay there till shutdown.

Exactly what mine looks like. At least now that this is known , hopefully it will be fixed by those more knowledgeable than I.

if I understand correctly, you turn of the wireless interface, and the applet switch from the bar-meter to the green checked icon...
and you don't have a Ethernet cable plugged in ...

This is how it goes. As I am using my computer, at random times. The icon just switches to the check mark without me doing anything. While I am let's say here in the forum. I will look down and the check mark is there instead of the green bars. No cable plugged in. I use this computer only with wireless.

Then when I try to disconnect. It won't let me. Even if I shutdown and reboot it comes back. I have to quit it first. Shutdown and reboot, then it works right for a time then goes back to the check mark.

It's random so there is nothing to point at that I am doing. Now there could be something I do that I don't know about but there's the rub, I don't know about it.

That was the behavior before the fix ... just to be 100% sure, check in synaptic about the package version, should be:
libdrakx-net-0.87-12pclos2012

Sorry, I left that out that I try to do that and it does not disconnect that way.
