PCLinuxOS Magazine Moving To A New Server
« on: April 09, 2012, 08:02:30 AM »
Hey there, guys!

The PCLinuxOS Magazine is currently in the process of moving to a new server. The domain name transfer is underway, as I type this, it appears (since I've been redirected to a page on our new server, instead of the usual page I view when I refresh the page view).

Up until now, Weric has graciously hosted the magazine's web site on his servers. I'd like to thank him for being such a gracious and accommodating host. The PCLinuxOS Magazine's NEW site will be hosted by YouCanToo, and features a complete site overhaul. Thank you, YouCanToo, for providing the new home for The PCLinuxOS Magazine.

If you find yourself unable to log into the magazine web site over the next day or two, please keep trying! We must allow some time for the rest of the Internet to catch up to our new location.

I'll provide updates on this situation as they arise.

Thanks for your patience while we load up the moving van and unpack our boxes in our new "digs."

Hey that's good news as I read I think yesterday that the Mag was to be cancelled due to lack of interest. I do download and read it, cos it is specific to this unique Operating System, and is up to date info. Nice !!  ;)

Really? Where did you hear that? Me thinks someone forgot to tell me!  ;D ;D ;D

Seriously, Abraxas, what you read was that the magazine FORUM was closing ... not the magazine. The magazine has had a separate forum ever since June 2009, but dwindling traffic there necessitated its closing. We still have the separate PCLinuxOS Magazine board here on the main forum, which should serve the magazine's needs quite nicely.

OOps, well that's a double positive for the Magazine for me then. :D

Thanks Abraxas! I'm hoping we're back up and "all mapped out" to the rest of the 'net shortly.

Ok gang!

I'm happy to report that the web site for The PCLinuxOS Magazine is now back up and fully functional.

You may need to alter your saved links a little, on account of the recent site overhaul we made when we made the move to the new server.

Your URL's should read either http://pclosmag.com/ or http://pclosmag.com/index.html. Both will get you to the same place. The magazine's site no longer uses php encoded pages.

I hope you find the new, simplified web site pleasing and easier to navigate.

Thank you for your patience!

+1 (from Belgium - but internal work network first routes us to Germany before going really online: that's always a little slower, but this one is really slow)
=> even timed out from the company network (maybe I'll test too from home)
