Open FW to LAN but *not* Internet? (Solved)

Hi,
I have recently become the proud owner of a laptop,
in addition to my desktop computer.
In the past, I have always kept my PCLOS pretty well
locked down, but now I want to be able to access
it from the laptop (e.g. for smb, cups).

I opened the PCLOS Control center (called
"Configure your computer") and went to
"Security" / "Set up your personal firewall".
In that window I opened the services I want
to be able to access from the laptop.

My problem is that I really do NOT want these services accessible
from the Internet, just from my own LAN.
Is that possible (without a degree in iptables)? Is there
any built in functionality to limit which IP addresses/range
will be allowed to access a service?

Those services will be accessible from the internet only if the computer is directly accessible from the internet.

The router you already act like as firewall protecting you local network from the internet and hence if you are behing a router,those services can not be reached from the internet.

While on your local network,raising up the firewall protects the computer from other computer in your local network,not from computers on the wider internet.

If you trust all computers in your local network,and you only use your computer in your local network then you dont need a firewall but it doesnt hurt having it,it is a good thing to have it though.
