Update notifier 1.4.4-1
« on: April 08, 2012, 04:08:57 PM »
After update to 1.4.4-1 update-notifier shows updates but when "Install updates using Synaptic" is clicked, it now only reloads the updates and doesn't open Synaptic.

I have removed it completely and reinstalled it to no avail. Same results on two computers using KDE 32 bit.

Happened to me on one computer. I didn't reinstall. I just opened the update-notifier window and selected Exit update-notifier. I then opened Synaptic manually and updated. After closing Synaptic, I started update-notifier again from the menu.

I have another issue: after a while i got a lot of update-notifier tray icons so i put this line on the kill_existing() function in the /usr/bin/update-notifier-launcher file:

Quote
for i in `ps -fea|grep update|grep yad|awk '{print $2}'`; do kill -9 $i; done

and i add more seconds to the "sleep" command in the 10th line for checking updates after connect to my wifi.
