Yes, I did that on my first round of BleachBit and result was 84.3 MB

Just redid:
Delete 4.1kB /tmp/kdecache-meme/kpc/kde-icon-cache.index
Delete 4.1kB /tmp/kdecache-meme/kpc/kde-icon-cache.data
Delete 1.7MB /tmp/kdecache-meme/icon-cache.kcache

Disk space to be recovered: 1.7MB
Files to be deleted: 3

open a terminal:

Code: [Select]
cd /home/meme/tmp
pwd

be 100% sure that after you enter pwd you get:
Quote
$ /home/meme/tmp

then type in:
Code: [Select]
rm  -rf  *

OK, please keep an eye on that tmp directory for the next a couple of days ... very probably there is some applications that create files in /tmp and never delete them ... may be you can identify which application ...   ;)

Let me clarify.  I am sure I have the strength to complete the little exercise of which you speak.  After all I have endured for about 4 years here doing little exercises.  :)

There are those who will be reading this who will be laughing and shaking their heads.  And no, they will not be laughing at me. They will be laughing at you for even suggesting I could do such a thing.  ;D

I enjoy doing the little exercises.  I always learn something new to forget after completing the exercises.
It is the good folks who try to lead me through the exercises that find no enjoyment.  :(

But the seed has been planted.  :)

What I did this morning:  I looked at the tmp folder and saw a lot of stuff in KDEmeme again.
Upon opening some folders I think it was mostly from the Trash.  I then emptied most of the folders from the trash.
I rebooted and then found this.  The tmp

81M     /home/meme/Blender
116M    /home/meme/Inkscape
170M    /home/meme/audacity1.3-meme
317M    /home/meme/Pictures

I tidied up with Bleachbit 2 or 3 hours ago and just run it again with only my usual Firefox options ticked and it came back with

Disk space to be recovered: 55.8MB
Files to be deleted: 515

So in a just few hours Firefox can claim a lot of space.

I just added System and ticked the Cache - Temporary Files - Trash options and it now shows

Disk space to be recovered: 77.6MB
Files to be deleted: 1039

with Google Earth - Temporary Files - added it now shows

Disk space to be recovered: 152.8MB
Files to be deleted: 1041

So in just a few hours it can take up a lot of space

Can you give us an idea about the content of the /home/meme/tmp folder ?
What did you have found inside ? Files ? Directories ?

Can you give us an idea about the content of the /home/meme/tmp folder ?
What did you have found inside ? Files ? Directories ?

I was discussing the situation with other members. We tried cleaning with Root BB and that did not remove.
The next suggestion was to delete files in the kde-meme by just selecting them.  I did that and they went away.
The file amount in /home went way down.

[meme@localhost ~]$ df
Filesystem            Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda6              13G  4.1G  8.3G  34% /
/dev/sda7              30G  2.1G   27G   8% /home
/dev/sda8              58G  5.4G   50G  10% /mnt/Storage
[meme@localhost ~]$

The deleted content was old old files that no longer existed on the computer but were in the Trash.  The Trash is now completely empty.  I will just continue to watch and see what comes into that folder and if it acts up.

I will mark Solved for the time being.
Thanks to all who offered suggestions.  :)
