can not get connected

It could be something silly that I am missing, but I have a "hard time" to connect to my wireless router.
IT using wpa2-psk(aes). I have the password and try from win, linux, but can not get connected. What should I do?.
Reset that damm thing?. I need secure the router.

I would say the most basic thing is to make sure your laptop wireless is turned on and your Ethernet cord is not plugged in, then make sure you have the exact password typed in.... go to PCC and remove any setup you have configured, restart your laptop, and reconfigure your connection.

If it still doesn't work, then we need to know a little bit about your hardware specs....
type    lspci    in a terminal and copy and paste here....

If you've tried all that already (you didn't say what you had done) then just post the terminal output and we'll try to help.  I'm sure someone else will post with additional requests.....

I went to my router and set for WPA only and still did not wanted to connect. It is not in Linux only. The win box have the problem too. I try to use USB Netgear, but could not connect. It is only when I try to connect to my router.  If I remove security, then I get connected, but I do not want to leave insecure network. I can get to my router by LAN only.

If it's happening in both OS's, then the problem is probably with the router, or the adapter.  Do you have another adapter (or, another device) that you can try connecting to the router with?

Both, the build in Dell and the usb netgear works fine with other wireless networks. I got problem with router, just can not figure out where I went wrong. WPA-PSK (TKIP) and WPA2-PSK (AES) for auth. I had this loptop for a years and never could get it connected to my router(win). I put pclos with hope that will connect. none. Any suggestion of what should I change in router?. I need it secure.

I would disconnect the router from the internet.

Reset it to factory defaults.

Ensure the devices can connect to it easily via wireless.

Apply security to the connection ....  WPA2

Test again that the laptop can connect with a properly set up NIC.

Use simple short - insecure - passphrase at first.

When all is working you can 'beef up' the passphrase.

I disable the security and got connected, but as soon as I enable the simple one, the connection was gone. Time to change the router. Thanks.

If you haven't reset the router then you do not know if it is some glitch or something permanent.

Other person depends on lan connection and can not ( at this time) reset the router. I my try late night. It comes with at@t cable service. I have full control from lan connection.
Will "play" with latter. Thanks.

We purchase 2 tablets. Comes in the some day. Her connect with no problems, mine have difficulty. It does shows some other networks in area. I did factory reset and still no luck. It will connect to public wi-fi with no problems. Just hate my router. I run wi-fi analyzer and shows strong signal. I read about this tablets and learn that 50% owners ahve no wi-fi problem and another 50% have some problems. I my got me the lemon.

LePan 2. Very good and fast. Build in gps, wi-fi, bluetooth. Very good 9.7inch screen. Gyro build in too. 1.2Mhz dual core cpu with 1G mem. Comes with 8G flash drive and can put 32G in micro drive. I put 16G. Waiting for update to v4 of android. Right now I have 3.2. Some guys root this tablet and report some improvements. It use MTP file system, that is why I can not connect to my linux laptop directly, but I found app that let me do file transfer over wi-fi. I [lay avi or mpeg4 movies with no problems. Just the darn wi-fi problem.

On what computer did you try from win, linux, but can not get connected?

I don't see a PCLinuxOS installed anywhere there!
