Enabling Seamless Mode in PclinuxOS 2010
« on: April 24, 2010, 09:30:37 PM »
Hi all,

Installed PclinuxOS 2010 E17 in VirtualBox; I then installed the VirtualBox Guest additions however my resolution was not auto adjusted after installing guest additions. I googled and a suggested solution was manually adding resolution in xorg.conf I did that and was able to get full screen mode working however seamless mode is not an enabled option.

Is there anyway to get seamless mode working as well?

Thanks in advance

In my case. After installing PCLos2010 and using synaptic, found out that Vbox additions was installed by default. However, seamless mode as in your case was not working, it was in-active in the menu of Vbox (e.g the under machine).

My solution: de-install Vbox using Synaptic. Then install Vbox additions from Vbox. Can be found in the VBox menu:Devices - Install VBox additions.

Now it works

Thx for the assistance.

Tried your suggestion but seamless mode still not enabled. Did you remove all vbox items in synaptic or just the guest additions?

Hello,
I know this post is old, but it was my old problem, and I was able to solve it today with the help of this reference:

    https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?t=15679

I followed and it worked, and finally I am enjoying an LXDE VM Guest with seamless mode enabled, I am very happy  ;D

Just if some one have same problem.
Best regards
joejac

My Guest VM is: PCLinuxOS 2011 Linux 2.6.38.8-pclos3.bfs kernel
