(Solved) Epson WP4020 inkjet printer
« on: March 29, 2012, 07:05:39 AM »
A friend that I got started with PCLinux, has purchased this Epson WP4020 printer
EPSON Workforce PRO 4020

I used PCC to set it up - and it shows the correct model and is checked as the default printer.
When I look through the list of Epson model numbers this model is not listed.

Is anyone using this printer that can offer and tips on getting it to work in PCLinux KDE ?

I looked on:   http://www.openprinting.org/printer/Epson/Epson-WP-4020
and found comments that it works perfectly - and there is an rpm driver listed.
Would the installation of this driver be suggested ?

All suggestions/help will be greatly appreciated as I have no experience with Epson printers !

Hi Ramchu,

sorry, but the above is not very clear ... to me at least.
The first sentence tell the the printer is already configured ... reading the second seems it's not ...

May be you can expand a little ?

Success ! ! !
Installed this driver: epson-inkjet-printer-201113w-1.0.1-1lsb3.2.i486.rpm
that I downloaded from openprinting.org .
I also had to install; lsb with all of its dependencies from Synaptic.

Went into PCC >Hardware>Configure Your Printer and set it up, it found the printer and driver.
But when It asked if I wanted to print a test page it didn't print anything, so I created a document
and told it to print it - it did.
Then I opened a color picture and printed it .
