need some help runing poclbm miner? python interpreter?

Ok supposedly "poclbm" is just a a python program with source included that you can just run it with a python interpreter if you have one installed, but I have no clue how to do that?

Just never have

Can some one who has a clue with this give me a hand please.

If you have no clue what app I am talking about it is this one

I was thinking about asking for a bitcoin client ported to PCLinux OS.

Python, and therefore the python interpreter is part of the basic install of PCLinuxOS.
