wbar 2.3 broken?
« on: March 21, 2012, 05:04:35 PM »
Discovered transparency problems with new version 2.3 of wbar on Xfce: the dock is surrounded by a black box. And no, reload doesn't work :(

Tried to rollback to version 2.2.x but it's not in the repos anymore. Any suggestions?

Sorry, I don't have XFCE installed. But the upgrade works fine on LXDE. I think I know what you're describing, though. It happens occasionally on LXDE. Try doing this. Right-click inside the black box. It's okay if the icons zoom. They won't launch on a right-click. Did the black box disappear?

No - thats the reason why I wrote "reload doesn't work". I use wbar several years now and reload solved the problem all the time - until v2.3.

Have you tried using wbar-config to start it?

If that works you may be able to see if changing a preference or effect(s) helps.

You find it under /home/YOU/.wbar

Thanks a lot for your hints.  But it's IMHO a bug.

Your opinion? But where is the evidence? And what exactly is the bug? Sorry, but your opinion gives us nothing to work with.

It would be better, if you would supply the requested information. Then we can begin to tract down the source of the problem.

Ill dig deeper in it.. I do have rarely that the background isnt transparent but when I refresh it goes back to normal...
Maybe it is a video driver / wbar thats not playing nice or that it is a bug... Ill supply some extra information as much as possible and whatever you wish

Sorry to interrupt (unless the original poster doesn't come back). Leiche, what icon set is that? Is it system wide or just for wbar?
