Try also FSArchiver.

Though I long ago found that mylivecd fit my backup needs fine & never tried anything else.  ;D

http://sourceforge.net/projects/obbackuprescue/

The above is a remaster using mylivecd and has just about everything
on it backup related except clonezilla (56 MB's) which is easy to install,
of course.

With my small system I'd be fine with fsarchiver and file-roller, but, the
iso has some larger programs on it you'll see.

Have a good one.

Wow... backup technologies for PCLinuxOS seems to have become even more diverse than I might have imagined it would be back when I first started using the distro in late 2007.  It's really neat to see all these new options out there, as everybody's needs are different, and having a wide range of choices is a part of what Linux is all about.

We've come a long way since tar -xjvf was the newest hot item for making tape backups, huh?  It's good to see.

(I'm looking at obbackup - looks like a nice toolkit, Ferdes Fides.  Bravo Zulu!)

Perhaps add -v to the command so you can see the files' progress
and see the verification of the checksum at the end of the process.

fsarchiver -v savefs /data/myarchive1.fsa /dev/sda1
