Remove winxp

Planning to remove winxp. How do I give the win partition to pclos?. Do I use Grub?

I would remaster my current pclinuxos, then just reinstall the remaster telling it to use the entire disk.  Probably the simplest way to do it.

What is your present setup? If you already have a PCLinuxOS installation on that drive, you only need to reformat the WinXP partition to ext3 or ext4. You can then use it as a data partition, mounted anywhere you choose. I mount such a partition on /home/polack/Documents from an entry in /etc/fstab.

sometimes just format the partition and use it as a ext4 partition is the simplest method

wipe the partition and resize / partition to use that space could be other option

if you had a dualboot install you can edit the boot menu to remove xp from the list very easy
