Thinkpad sound needs to be muted then unmuted.
« on: March 11, 2012, 11:26:10 AM »
Mostly all is well with Phoenix.  I'm pretty happy.  One problem, though which is generally only annoying:
If I want sound at all, I have to mute PCM and then unmute PCM to get sound.  It seems to me the first time this happened I muted and unmuted the master.
I have a T23 and I believe I have the right soundcard selected.  It's the same Intel sound I've always used in Linux.  I'm running ALSA but there seems to be no difference if pulseaudio is enabled or not.  Right not it's not.  Thanks for any help!  I've used 10 different distro's on this thing over the years but never had this problem.

I'll be watching with interest. I've also experienced this "phenomenon."

Are you using a Thinkpad, too?  What model?

Thanks so much, Sproggy!  Worked like a charm!
Parnote, your house sounds like mine!  I have enough Thinkpad parts to keep me going for a few more years!
Thanks for the wonderful XFCE remix, Sproggy!
