Does your ISP not have a help desk.?
Maybe explaining him what you have and asking what he thinks will give an explanation .
Maybe not a solution, but an explanation

I remember up to about 3 years ago,we got here also pages served up by this Government telling us that that particular site was forbidden stuff for Thai people.
Now we don't have those beautiful green pages anymore. We just get a useless advertising site dished up.

There are other utilities to trace links, but I have to look them up first. Can't remember them of-hand
The great thing in this world is not so much where we stand,
as in what direction we are moving.

I have tried traceroute,the result is http://postimage.org/image/6ynjqmm4f/
The way by which I use traceroute is correct?

Yes, the way you are using traceroute is correct. Wow, if you're getting no response on the first hop, you're being blocked at the source. Talk to your ISP and see if they can tell you why.

I use this picture to show what I get if the website (like facebook.com) had been blocked by ISP or
the government.

and this one shows the statement when I visit pclinuxos.com

When I use it that way I get following result...Why would that be
As user:
[tony@localhost ~]$ traceroute pclinuxos.com
pclinuxos.com: Name or service not known
Cannot handle "host" cmdline arg `pclinuxos.com' on position 1 (argc 1)

note: I am getting that feeling ( non-technical feeling ) that it possible could have to do with DNS

yes, it starts with 199.231.58.82 and ends so.
That's fine

I just tried a few other.
All the same

MY traceroute only accepts numbers , no words.

Maybe has to do with dependencies ( just wildly grasping for ideas  ;D

OK, I don't think it has to do with julianxu 's problem.

Let's get back on track and I will open another tread sometime

/end hijacking

based on the fact that "ping pclinuxos" was working and returning the correct IP ... I would say no, it's not a DNS problem ...

I am using pclinuxos in virtualbox,I think there are some setting issues which I have no idea of.
I can use ping command in windows XP(my main system) and get result as
http://postimage.org/image/dmk5d85mn/
While I use ping or traceroute or xtraceroute in pclinuxos, all they indicate "No response",but
I can surf internet or install software normally in pclinuxos.

It is so kind you all to help me,I think this issue is too boring, and I think we can do less with it,
so I do not bother you all further.many thanks and this forum is really like a warm family,I'd like to
be a member.I will still use a proxy to reach our  lovely forum, thank you all again.

Thank you for your patient and I will go on.
This is the result of using tracert in winxp: http://postimage.org/image/kk1amgku7/
I think the final hop indicates is not DNS problem.
