With PCLOS I can't get Gppp to detect my modem.
In the hardware listing I"m showing it under Bridges and system Controllers.
This modem is the only way I have to connect to the internet. The only distro I've found that detects it is Puppy linux.
Bridges and system Controllers shows it as:
HSF 56k Data/Fax Modem
Vendor = Coexant
Bus=PCI
VendorID=0x14f1
DevID=0x2f20
The /dev/MODEMS directory has no files
I found the post in Tips and Hints about installing drivers and building RPMs and such but if I gotta try to work around all that I'll just stay with Puppy. It's WAY to advanced and complicated for me. I would appreciated it if someone could come up with a way to get this working without having to jump through 40 hoops.
It really surprises me that it will not just go ahead and work in PCLOS as common as the Coexant Data/Fax modems are.
Sorry if this sounds a bit testy, but I've been trying to get this working for a couple of weeks and am getting a bit aggravated.
