new 32bit: ps3mediaserver-1.50.1 and mplayer r34800
« on: March 06, 2012, 09:43:39 AM »
Hi,

This time I tried to build something a little more difficult to learn something new :)

mplayer-4.4.1-0.34800.1

Rebuild for ps3mediasever. Latest trunk has support for ASS/SSA subs in mencoder required for pms to work.
I've also updated default blue skin and applied patch for extended microDVD subs format used in polish builds since 2007 ( http://forum.pclinuxos.org.pl/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1776&p=20682#p20682 ).
Also mplayer has its own icons since 2012-01-14. I used them rather than converted from skin.

SRPM: http://cyryl.net/SRPMS/mplayer-4.4.1-0.34800.1cyrylas2012.src.rpm

ps3mediaserver-1.50.1

Update with spec from 64bit build.
Also pms stores its database in /usr/lib/ps3mediaserver/database/. And it's harcoded in sources. I've found some patches in debian build, but we use precompiled file. Is this change allowed? Making something world writable in /usr/lib/ seems really bad for me...
Code: [Select]
mkdir -p %{_libdir}/%{name}/database
chmod 777 %{_libdir}/%{name}/database

SRPM: http://cyryl.net/SRPMS/ps3mediaserver-1.50.1-4cyrylas2012.src.rpm

Thanks in advance for testing and helping me understand what is the proper way of packaging :)

How is the testing going folks? I don't see any responses. I am testing the files for a longer while now - can someone confirm the top notch quality / problem-less installation and working?

Thanks.

Hey folks... What's the story here...

Cyrylas has packaged the mplayer and other stuff. He spent some time writing a patches for mplayer so there is a better support for subtitles and there are NO replies for... 3 weeks? 98 views but noone installed / testing it? Guys... I am not sure what's happening but if I was Cyrylas I would start wondering what's wrong... I am sure he was hoping for a review and for the files to be added to the repository since he took his time and did all that for us... I know 32 bits are on a backburner now since 64 bits became priority but I am sure that the 32 bits release is not forgotten and buried...

Thanks to all the testers I hope that the reviews will show up soon enough...

And one more thing - if You are afraid to trust Cyrylas / Michal with his scripts - remember that me - the paranoid pole - trust him...

Regards.

Andy

What should happen? Should Cyrylas send PM to Neal and ask for the dropbox access or...?

Tell us Leiche what is the correct way of doing things coz those packages were hanging here for weeks and noone bothered to tell us anything...

Cheers...

Gotcha... So even if the package contains own patches / modifications it's still going to the dropbox then instead of here for a general testing? I think this part was confusing for both Cyryl and me.

That's cool. Thanks for the info.

General info:
If one of our established packagers, such as Leiche advises that you should contact me, you should do so and not wait for me to find your test thread.

cyrylas,
I have sent an invitation to you.

Neal - sorry - my fault entirely - since Cyrylas made packages with own patches - I thought it would be best to let you know here before sending to dropbox.

Sorry my friend.

Not a problem, Andy. Not at all. You were looking out for us and for him. That doesn't need any fault claim. :) :) :)
