compaq cq50 #1 - pclos 2012 fully updated 2.6.38-8
compaq cq50 #2 - pclos 2010 2.6.33-7 (maybe updated once)
Thought touchpad on #1 was fixed (tweaks to 50-synaptics.conf) but now that I have access to #2 there is huge difference. #2 is smooth, no jerkiness.
I thought xorg.conf was handling touchpad in 2010, but can't find reference to it on compaq #2 ?
[UPDATE] found some references to parameters in /var/log/Xorg.0.log but not all and some are cryptic such as "acceleration profile 0". What is that and where would it be found. If I can copy some of these parameters from the 2010 install to the to the 50-synaptics.conf file of the 2012 install, I may have some success.
