FYI, Lenovo SL510 on PCLinuxOS LXDE: no brightness. no volume and no mute keys
and I tried really hard (almost a whole night) to get it working!

The native 1366px screen resolution was blurry with strange font effects, probably due to scaling.

Finally, I installed the XFCE version of another rolling release distro without any issue, everything detected correctly out of the box.
Sorry guys that it could not be. I figured this feedback might be useful. I will keep PCLinuxOS LXDE on a desktop though.

I have had a Lenovo G550 for almost 2 years, and I never had any of those problems.... I DID install Acme on it to help configure the function keys...  and I'm running xfce.

Also, your volume indicator, which is most likely already on your panel somewhere, can be increased or decreased (or even muted) with a simple roll of your mouse's scroll wheel.

I hope you can get it fixed as this really is the best distro around.
