sshd problem
« on: March 01, 2012, 07:04:19 AM »
I am trying to run nx but authentication is failing. I cannot find where sshd is logging events.
/var/log/security contains zero bytes. Where should I search?

can you connect using ssh directly ?
try:
Code: [Select]
ssh user@192.168.1.100                                 # substitute the appropriate user and IP address
ssh user@hostname

Follow AS' advice to see whether the problem is with ssh or NX.

I find NX authentication problems very difficult to track down, but NX is an excellent remote desktop once it's working.

To answer your question, look in /var/log/syslog and /var/log/messages.
