When my desktop loads, I get two windows popping up asking if I want to open the two partitions on my external MyBook.  It is a little annoying and not sure where to turn it off.  I went into PCC and set them up as usual with their own mount points and ok for user to mount but still get two pop up windows on boot.

The MyBook is usually always connected to this machine but I do move it occasionally from one to another and would like to be able to do that will still the way I do in my KDE installs, haven't had this issue. I will get the notifier in the tray but not these pop up windows.

Have a look at PCManFM - Edit - Preferences ........  Volume Management tab ......  maybe these settings are causing it .....

Hi and thank you, Just, for helping me.  I would not have found that on my own - was looking in "customize your LXDE desktop" and messing with fstab when PCC didn't seem to provide a fix.

However... am playing with the options in that tab and it does look like I am having to compromise.  I have got it so that it no longer nags me when I hit the desktop.  In order to do that (stop the nag), it looks like I had to sacrifice the handy notification when I hotplug my thumbdrives.

I have chosen the first two options in that tab (the third seems to trigger the nagging) 1. mount mountable volumes automatically on startup and 2. mount removable media automatically when they are inserted.

This works for me OK.  It isn't the same as KDE but then again, this isn't KDE  ;)

well, as long as the third is unticked, I am relieved of the popup. That seems to be the culprit.  3. "Show available options for removable media when they are inserted".  My complaint was that the external drive has been plugged in since the install and should be considered "semi-perm" which KDE seems to deal with OK.  I kept the drive plugged in during this install but it stills sees them as "removable" which it (there is really one one MyBook, two partitions).

If it is plugged into a USB socket then it is 'removable' and the OS sees it as such.
