Recommended USB wireless module?
« on: February 27, 2012, 05:15:53 AM »
Hi, after years of encouragement from a dedicated PCLinuxOS friend I've finally installed it (KDE 2012)...

I would like to use a USB wireless module for internet connectivity - is there a particular make or model I should be going for to make it easy for myself?  I'm in the UK.

Any recommendations most gratefully received - and please forgive me if there was somewhere obvious to find this info that as an absolute newbie I haven't spotted.

You should find a comprehensive listing of USB wireless devices here

I've had pretty good success with a couple D-Link DWA-160's

I did have to dig up the firmware for it, but it's been pretty good since (hope I didn't just jinx myself!)
